Raised by the Birsbourne family in Nesscliffe (Shrewsbury) day old turkey chicks are hacked and raised, during their life they will roam freely and graze the pastures. They are fed wheat and potatoes grown on the farm as well as a specially prepared corn ration which is free of growth promoters and additives. At night the birds are brought into large barns for protection which are bedded daily with straw. The birds are processed on the farm, reducing food miles but also reducing stress for the animals. Plucked and dry aged for 7-10 days producing a succulent, tender and quality Christmas bird. Supplied with giblets.
Typical 4kg Turkey feeds 8-10 people.
