These Shropshire Bronze Turkeys (previously Kelly Bronze) are reared on the outskirts of Shrewsbury by the Cartwright family with welfare and quality at the heart of everything. A strain of wild turkey the bronze turkeys are raised for twice as long as commercial turkeys giving them a deeper ‘gamier’ flavour.
Their feed is based on locally grown cereals and vegetable protein. Their turkeys are bred without additives, drugs or growth promoters and their feed is GM free.
The birds are hand plucked and then hung in a chilled environment for 14 days to develop an even fuller flavour. Each Shropshire Bronze turkey is supplied with cooking instructions and a temperature probe.
