Fordhall Farm has a unique story- well actually there are many aspects to Fordhall which make it unique. There is the organic heritage as one of the first organic farms in the country, the first of its kind community ownership scheme, and the story of how Charlotte and Ben saved the family farm from development. The farm is run by a passionate team who love what they do. You will find lots more information on our farm, what we do and why we do it below.

Fordhall Farm shop was born from a desire to make the family farm sustainable by cutting out the middle man and bringing fresh, pasture fed meat from Fordhall Farm direct to you, the customer. The family didn’t want to be dictated to by big organisations setting unrealistically low prices for their livestock, and so began the journey of selling direct to the public and taking back control.

Regenerative farming

Fordhall’s regenerative farming system has been developed over generations of farming the land. The way we farm is always evolving. Our key principles include high standards of animal welfare, low levels of environmental pollution, prohibition of genetically modified food, enhancement of the landscape and wildlife habitats, and – most importantly – soil management, which maintains soil health and does not involve the use of chemical fertilisers and sprays. We love our soil microbes – they are our hidden factory of workers!

Our Community Landlord

Fordhall Farm is owned by the Fordhall Community Land Initiative (FCLI) and rented to Ben and Charlotte Hollins, who run their farming business and diversified farm enterprises.

Full traceability

We are very proud of the provenance in the meat we sell. Our beef, lamb and pork comes from our animals on our farm and our chickens are from a local farm in Staffordshire. This is how we ensure you know exactly where your meat is from...

Our team of on-site butchers take great pride in producing some of the best quality meat you can buy, from ethically reared animals at Fordhall Farm.

Delivery and packaging

Our mission is to deliver our produce to you in the swiftest and most sustainable way we can. Your order will be packaged in recycled cardboard and insulated with British sheep’s wool insulation.
